lgbtQnews offers frequent summaries of news stories about gay and lesbian issues. Our posts fall into two broad categories: We offer both brief highlights of a story -- something we call Q briefs and more extended summaries featuring reports from multiple sources.
Q briefs have a big Q in the heading and the yellow highlighting on the headline.) These are quick summaries of a news item from one or (sometimes) two sources. The source report is linked within the item.
But many of our stories -- the ones with the big black headlines -- are based on multiple primary reports. We attempt to give you a comprehensive summary of the story from several angles. You can also click on the links at the top and bottom of each story to read the full original reports.
Our stories are copy-edited by Robin Evans, but you'll see the byline "NewsEditor" on most of them rather than Robin's name. We do that to indicate that the stories are copy-edited by Robin rather than being reported by him.
lgbtQnews is mostly focused on news rather than commentary, but our Q briefs will occasionally point readers toward interesting commentaries elsewhere on the web. We also welcome essays submitted by readers. Please contact us if you'd like to share a commentary with our readers.
We also offer a comprehensive list of headlines from dozens of other queer blogs. (Again, focused on blogs that tilt toward news rather than pure commentary.)
Please click the contact link to tell us about any blog you think we should add to that list.
We'd also love to hear from you if you have a blog that you'd like share with our readers. We'd be happy to arrange a way to cross-post relevant stories from your blog.
lgbtQnews.com is an evolution of the site that launched in October, 2007 as seaQwa.com. Most of the seaQwa posts are still available here, including a few posts from an even earlier blogSpot version of the site.
