They were accused of "acts against nature," even though the Belgian's lawyer said the civil union was simply a way to get the helper the papers he needs to live in Belgium.

-- Southern Decadence organizers announced Saturday afternoon that all remaining events have been canceled. Some New Orleans hotels are closing today because of the approaching Hurricane Gustav, forcing merrymakers in town for Southern Decadence to find other digs for the gay party weekend. But organizers say the busy weekend that drew 120,000 revelers last year will continue despite the storm -- including tomorrow's big parade.
