Poydenis was first discovered by a modeling agent named Steve Wimbley on Spring Break his senior year of college. At the time, he was playing football, drinking beer, and having a great time and was not ready yet to begin a career. Steve asked him to call him when he was done with college. When he graduated, he called him up and he immediatley booked him for "Cosmopolitan Magazine."

Poydenis quickly got signed with Elite Models Management and before long, he was working regularly, appearing in campaigns  from over a dozen different companies including "Speedo," "Perry Ellis," "Park & Ronen," "Machine Clothing," "Bacardi," and "Absolute Vodka," just to name a few.

He's been in a few television shows and became SAG eligible due to his lead role in a Honda Accord Commercial in 2007. His first runway was at the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach.
