Handsome and super-hunky model Alex Christensen is one of the latest Abercrombie models. (See Bruce Weber's shot in the upper center of this montage.) Le Gay Blog, as they often do, caught images of him early and often. See their collections of Alex photos here, here, here, and here. The photos that make up this montage are just a small sample of the many photos they've published in the last couple of months. That very hot pic on the right is by Jon Malinowski. Christensen, who is 6'1", is represented by New York's Major Models.

Edilson Nascimento: Smokin'

Super-hunky Brazilian model Edilson Nascimento, 20, was getting so much ink (real and virtual) this spring that Made In Brazil blog admitted to being "a little tired" of seeing him. We're not anywhere near there yet.

Edilson was coverboy for gay mag M Menusuel and was featured in the April issue of another French gay mag, Tetu. He was also recently featured in Genre in a portfolio by Rick Day. And in the May issue of Junior magazine.

The Tetu shots (on the left here and upper right) are by super-photographer Greg Vaughan. The M Menusuel shots (center and bottom right) are by Troy Phillips. Le gay blog has the M Mensuel photos here and here. Made in Brazil has Vaughan's ultra-sexy shots for Tetu here.

We usually feature models and/or actors in our montages here, but it seems appropriate to feature an very hot, buff (and oh-so-tall athlete) in honor of the NBA finals.

Wally Szczerbiak became something of a supporting-cast co-star on LaBron James's Cleveland Cavaliers, as his new team played a tough semi-final series against the Celtics. The attention must be a welcome change from his brief purgatory on the dreadful Oklahoma City-bound team he was stuck with at the beginning of the season.

But hey, we'd be happy if he was just sitting on a bench, as long as he'd take his shirt off.

The 31-year-old is 6-foot-7-inches and weighs 244 pounds. He was born in Madrid, Spain; played college ball at Miami (OH); and was a first round pick (at #6) by the Timberwolves in 1999.

Photographer Mariano Vivanco proved in his calendar shots for Dolce & Gabanna that model David Gandy richly deserves his first name.

Notice something about Gandy in these shots that we don't see in most model portfolios (including most other shots of Gandy), but that's ever-so-lovingly present in Michaelangelo's statue: Just a hint of a belly.

Clearly, Gandy was able to forego the usual non-diet and was allowed to carbo-load and gorge himself just a bit before this photo-shoot to transform himself into the proper form for his oh-so-famous namesake.

Originals for all twelve months and the cover can be found at American Urge. You can also see a Flash slideshow of the shots at D&G's site. It's a 2008 calendar and no longer available at Amazon, but you might find it in a near-remainder bin at a bookstore or fashion outlet. And really... would you be looking at the dates anyway with these pictures above the dates?

(And we'll admit that we did darken Vivanco's subtle shadows in the leaf area just a bit to make the David shot meet our usual self-imposed just-barely SFW standards.)

Made in Brazil blog was introduced to Smailey when a friend sent them this snapshot of five Brazilian models at play in Miami. They are: Mateus Verdelho, Smailey Constantino, Rodrigo Calazans, Leandro Lima, and Victor Pecoraro

We were amazed to hear that someone -- anyone -- could come even close to super-hot Kerry Degman [examples here] in a <S>face-off</S> body-off vote of hot male models. But that's just what happened in the public voting for DNA magazine's April '08 Mate of the Month.

Amazing at it seems, there was an exact tie this month between Kerry and another model. But as you might guess, it's not just any young model who could pull off such a feat. It's someone with what Made In Brazil blog (which has the original photos) judges to be the "Best Model Name": Smailey Constantino.

And, as you can see, he was helped along not only because he wears near see-through shorts in these pictures (which were used for DNA's voting), but also (and we're guessing here, of course) because of what can be seen through those shorts. Impressive, no?

Smailey is an 18-year-old Brazilian now living in either Los Angeles or Miami (not clear which) but represented ably by Vision Los Angeles. These are his basic stats (missing the one that you'll have to guess for yourself, based on the evidence): Height: 5' 11" (180cm) Waist: 31" (79cm) Shoes: 11.5 Hair: Dark Brown Eyes: Brown Suit: 40" Suit Length: R Inseam: 32"

But about the name... We think it's almost the Best Model Name (BMN). We'd still hand the BMN award to Kristoffer Ryan [we Kristoffer samples here].

Thierry Pepin by Gregory Vaughan

Thierry Pepin considers himself primarily an actor, but he's achieved considerable success as a model ever since he was discovered by Motreal ad agency Giovanni after starring in an independent Canadian film, Danny In the Sky.

Born in 1981, Pepin is from a small town in rural Quebec, but moved as quickly as he could to Montreal. He moved there when he was sixteen to study fine art and design.

His modeling career came his way largely by accident, according to a biography on Pepin's website, but he's pursued it with relish since being handed the opportunity. He's modeled for Ralph Lauren, A&F, and many more fashion houses and has posed for some of the world's best-known photographers.

Wendell Lissimore's agency, Red Models, said this of their star client on their frequently-updated blog back in March:

A tall lean well toned body is one basic ingredient. Add beautiful skin, a great out going personality and a strong face and all you may get is a modeling contract in NY city. Having the drive and determination to be the best will put you on a sure path to success.

But there's one other vital ingredient: Those eyes. The sultry, sexy, long-lashed eyes. The eyes that seem to reach seductively through the camera to the viewer beyond.

As his bookings rolled into the agency, Red's bloggers became even more enthusiastic:

Modeling is an art.....by that I mean that those who have the ability to morph into as many characters as possible and do it with such great ease will astound even the most exerienced photographer. The ability to serve up stoic (portrait) beauty poses then quickly switch to classical movements, associated only with a highly trained dancer.........is Supermodelesque!!!

And that's the word, right there: astounding.

Wendell's busy schedule has put him before the lenses of some of the world's top photographers and landed him bookings for Adidas, Giorgio Armani, Sean John, Stone Island and more. He's also been featured in V, GQ, Out magazines and more.

Aron Norman took the B&W in the upper left. Below that is one of the stunning portraits by Rick Day (also featured in this Qgallery montage). The photo in the center is part of an astounding series by Marcqui Atkins. You can find all those and way more of Wendell on the Red Models site.

But seeing those images to the right require us to tear ourselves away from Wendell's seductive gaze in the portrait on the left, by Itaysha Jordan. We're having some trouble doing that.

Kerry Degman skater montage

We're not sure what the process is for a model to be deemed "super-" but we suspect that being chosen as cover-guy for not one, but two different gay mags in different languages gets a male model at least part way to super-model status.

If that's the case, then phenomenally-hot model Kerry Degman is, indeed, now a super-model since he's on the covers of the May, 2008 issues of both Out in the US and Tetu in France. And both magazines choose to feature him with sporty clothing or (in the case of the near-nudes in Tetu) a bit of sports equipment.

It's the shots from photographer Randall Mesdon used in Tetu that we highlight in this montage. We're fascinated by the retro-football outfit from Out, but it's the skater motif from Tetu that seems to us to take Kerry back to his roots.

The double covers and the outstanding shots of Degman have the blogs abuzz. We took samples of Mesdon's great shots for Tutu from Beauty and the Bum.

Andy at Towleroad explains the concept behind the Out cover and adds another shot of all the models they're featuring this month in their virtual walk-off of the models.

Towelroad's readers -- irritated as they usually are -- pile on with their disgust at seeing Degman on the cover of Out. Seems he isn't out, so they figure he doesn't belong there. We, for our part, don't care. We're delighted to see him there and anywhere else.

Adam Raphael's 'Room Service' montage

We were, we'll admit, quite taken with the shot by photographer Adam Raphael of super-hot model Kerry Degman under the covers in the montage we added recently, Kerry Degman by Adam Raphael.

Enough taken, that we looked into it all a bit further to realize (yes, late, we understand) that the shot is a veritable theme for Raphael. He released a book last year called Room Service [Amazon] that features -- as a reviewer put it, "warmly sensuous, beautifully composed images of stunning men, nude and partially clothed, asleep in soft white sheets, fresh from the shower with towel, caught in languid poses in briefs, and at times communicating directly with the photographer (and thus, us) with gazes that take the breath away."

On his website's "publications" page, Raphael offers a preview of just a few of the 150 photographs included in the book. In this montage, we offer just a hint of the sumptuous photos you'll see there.

Scott Andreasen: boyish charm montage

Scott Andreasen is a super-hot 22-year-old model from just across the Sound from us -- Port Orchard, Washington (an area where that spelling of the name is not uncommon).

His boyish charm and infectious smile earned him an honored spot last September as Cosmo's "Man Without His Shirt". Those same features and one other very perky feature that was happily displayed earned him many fans for his solo appearance as "Harry" for the porn site, SeanCody.com [NSFW]. (That's a cropped pic from there on the left.)

He told Cosmo that his favorite part of a woman's body is "The sexy point where her lower back meets the top of her butt." He knows at least something about that kind of thing since he has a 2-year-old son who, according to SeanCody, "looks exactly like him."

He's gone on to model for N2N Bodywear as you can see in the shot on the right here.

We first somehow found him through all the ads on EyeCandy where you can see low-res shots of most of his N2N work, but Kenneth in the (212) has a better collection of shots from his portfolio.

The incredibly hunky Nick Manzoni is a personal trainer and fitness model. For both, what matters most is his incredibly buff phisique, and not so much the moods he can portray for a camera.

Despite that, though, he really does show hints of being able to model different moods for the camera. The image on the left here hints at his range, showing just a touch of sweet innocence. But it's those others moods that are more common in his photo shoots, and -- admittedly -- what draws us back to his portfolio time and again. He plays a really good and hot tough guy for the camera.

Jesse Metcalf appears to be ready to get over the cute, sexy boy-next-door image from his days on Desperate Housewives.

And -- oh my! -- does he do it will with these shots recently added to his official MySpace page. Still super-sexy, but the 29-year-old appears to have grown way beyond the "cute" and "boy" part of any description. Very hot buff man who's just enough dangerous. And we're delighted to see it.

To indicate the image-switch, TreyCruz, is kind enough to dig up a transitional shot or two of Jesse playing on the beach with the former look.

But it's those new bearier and nicely inked shots (spotted quickly by OhLaLa, of course) that have our imagination running. (With an actor, of course, it's sometimes tough to guess whether the tattoos are really inked or just painted on by makeup.)

Oh, and for those who find the car the sexier object, well -- ("nice car, sorry about your penis") -- we at least put a little glamor shot of it in there. Head over to MySpace for the full package.

Just a guess, but we suspect that most viewers of this photo-blog know of the Brazilian site Terra. Each month they feature a hot guy that they designate The Boy (click the checkmark. It's generally as SFW as this page, but only just). And they seem to find these guys by wandering the beaches rather than by calling up a modeling agencies.

And that means that Terra's The Boy is often less shaved, polished and perfected than the typical model. There's often a genuineness about the models they pick.

That's never been as true as it was last November when The Boy of the month was Michael Horta -- a guy who seemed to love to take his clothes off for Terra's camera. In fact, they seemed to have trouble keeping the shoot from turning wholly NSFW which they don't do on that site.

Oh, and the bio bits: He's 20. Was born in the US, but moved to Brazil when he was a kid.

A comment by "GayListDaily" about his photos on the Made In Brazil site sums up Michael's appeal perfectly:

I think the reason he evokes an emotion is because he is not photographed so much as a sterile specimin. There's a lot of emotion in the photos, soft lighting, and highlighting the curves and ripples of his incredible body. He evokes incredible raw sensual hotness that a lot of the other models don't have.

As they often do, The Boy photos spread wildly. And as they often do, We Love Guys, presented a great collection of high res shots, only a few of which could be used in this montage.

He's worked with some of the world's best photographers, including Bruce Webber for A&F. Brent Van Zant is a small-town boy from a place called, appropriately enough, Paradise. It's in northern California, but he assures interviewers is far from any kind of city influence. He came to modeling late -- he's all of 29 by now -- and only after working for several years in construction. Since then, he's been traveling the world to pose gorgeously, and -- fortunately for us all -- mostly in underwear and swimwear. He's also a fitness model who's appeared in Men's Fitness and other magazines.

And, of course, like vitually all super-hot guys who also have a good portfolio, he's appeared on the pages of DNA, and like dozens of others on its cover. He was cover bloke for DNA #61. And his images from the mag have been voted most popular by its readers several times since.

What's a husker? One model of a Nebraska native might be Larry the Cable Guy who still lives there and goes to Husker games at the University of Nebraska.

But we like to image (although we're virtually certain it's not true) that Nebraska native and major-model Ryan Daharsh is the ideal example of a husker. (Hey, why not dream?)

Super-photographer Lewis Payton featured Ryan in a collection called "10". He was cover model for DNA #67, and has been frequently featured since then on its web pages. And he's gone on to model for some of the major brands in fashion, including a stint as A&F's it-boy.

Skye Boyland was cover boy for issue #97 of DNA magazine back in January. The guys at DNA were kind enough to offer a number of "making of" videos detailing the photo shoot.

And even though the blokes (I think that's a proper word to use) at DNA have been known to exaggerate, we don't really think that was the case a month or two later when they said he'd become the most popular model ever for the mag and offered a group of wet and wild outtakes from the photoshoot by Ross Brownsdon. Those are the pictures used for this montage.

And a few bits of info about him from DNA: Skye Boyland is really his name. "Skye is about as Aussie a bloke as you'll get." He has won the Victorian Natural Bodybuilding championship.

One of our favorites is up for a vote as we post this. If you happened to find this in time, you'd have a chance to vote for uber-hunk Jonathan Jesensky as DNA magazine's "Mate of the Month" for this week. (4/11/08).

What better way to point out that voting chance than to offer this montage of classic Jesensky shots.

Oh, and notice the blue fingernails in the middle picture used here. He isn't stylin' there. Jonathan is a carpenter when he's not bartending, modeling, or acting. We suspect the fingernail coloring the result of a carpentry accident (ouch!), but if anyone has other ideas, we're all ears.
